Our first spiritual film discussion night will be tomorrow night – this Tuesday. The film is The Spirit of Albion, which is perfect for Samhain, and likely the first film created by Pagans, for Pagans. Come by The Center Path, tomorrow at 7:00 PM
The Address is 1 Washington St. in Dover. Come in the center door, take the elevator to the third floor, and walk down the hall to the left until you come to the East Suites. We’re in suite 3110.
I’ve added a donation button to The Center Path web page. If you feel that you would like to help in what we do, then please consider a donation to help us along. We do have expenses – rent, ritual items, our Pagan Pizza Party, films, disks and so forth. I’m happy to do what I’m doing, but if you want us to be able to do more for the community, then feel free to help us out!
What do you get for helping? Well, anyone who contributes at least $20.00 in a calendar year will be considered a member – this entitles them to half-price at any of our special classes (classes for rituals are always free for everyone), library privileges (as soon as the library is running, and the knowledge that you are a supporter of The Center Path. We may add more perks in the near future.
Also, as soon as is possible, I’ll be getting an FEID as part of our transition to an actual non-profit organization, and at that point, we’ll have a different paypal account. And, as soon as we are actually a non-profit, your donations will be tax-deductible.
If you do make a donation, and want that money to go to a specific purpose, please let me know.
So I spent the day getting ready for Pagan Pride tomorrow.
Jasper, John and I will be there, so look for us!
Today was a busy day – I created a small sign for The Center Path, as well as a calendar of events and this brochure to hand out. Feel free to print a copy for yourself.
I think that every church needs to help not only its own members, but we exist to help the larger world as well; religion is not a self-centered endeavor. So I’m trying to find out what YOU might like to see as a focus for The Center path’s social involvement. I’m also going to start a Center Path group on Facebook, but for now the poll is on my timeline here: http://www.facebook.com/deirdre.hebert
I’ve got a copy of Spirit of Albion on the way, and I’ve been building a library of public domain films. The list currently includes: The Ancient World: Greece
(Parts 1 and 2) The Ancient World: Egypt
(Parts 1 and 2) Witchcraft through the Ages “Haxan”, Narrated by William Burroughs. The Occult History of the Third Reich, Part 1. The Enigma of the Swastika. The Occult History of the Third Reich, Part 2. SS Blood and Soil The Dark Side of the Net Aleister Crowley, Masters of Darkness
As soon as I get the wide-screen TV going, we’ll start scheduling films. I’m hoping to show one film per month. Let me know what day of the week might work for you. The days that are unavailable are Wednesday and Thursday.
When we celebrate Labor Day, let’s remember what we’re celebrating. Many might have us believe that it’s “all American workers”, but that’s only part of the story – we are celebrating the achievements of ORGANIZED LABOR – in short, we’re celebrating the achievements of unions – of workers united together to collectively assert their rights. Without unions, we wouldn’t have an 8-hour work day, there would be no such thing as pay for overtime, lunch breaks, safe work conditions. People would still be paid in scrip, and forced to spend it in company stores at unfair prices. Child labor would still be rampant.
Many people might disagree with the idea of unions, but it’s interesting how many will still take this day as their own.
Blessed Brighid, mighty Lugh – in both of you, we find models for ourselves – of great skill and craftsmanship – neither of you are afraid of work, bunt neither will you countenance unfairness. May we, with your help, never shy away from an honest day’s work. But may we always also be willing to stand up for what is right, to fight for what we deserve if it is denied us, and may we always be ready to stand beside our sisters and our brothers if they be treated unfairly.
Dee, Jasper and John will be at Southern NH Pagan Pride on September 8. Dee will be teaching a class on creating amulets, we’ll be selling some items at our tent, and John will be doing readings. It’s a great event, with great music, awesome people and a whole lot to do for the entire family. We hope to see you all there. Click the link or the image to go to the SNHPPD web site.
